On August 29 at 5:52 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 1900 block of Hilton Court for the report of a man who violated a final protective order. The victim reported the man entered her residence and physically assaulted her. Officers observed several scratches on her face. Officer Knight observed the suspect and apprehended him without further incident. Further investigation revealed the man, Cozell Ryan Johnson, 37, of Bryans Road, MD, had an active warrant from a previous assault. Johnson was transported to the Charles County Detention Center where he was served the warrant, charged with assault, and violating the Final Protective Order. On August 30, a judge ordered Johnson to be held without bond. PFC McCuen is investigating.
