BURGLARY: Between Sept. 2 and Sept. 3, unknown suspect(s) broke into a barn on Annapolis Woods Road in Indian Head and stole tools, a long gun and other equipment. Officer D. Proctor is investigating.

MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE DRUGS: On Aug. 31 at 12:30 a.m., PFC F. Davis, Jr., was conducting radar in the area of Rosewick Road near Radio Station Road in La Plata when he observed a car exceeding the speed limit. Officer Davis initiated a traffic stop and upon approaching the driver, he observed a pill grinder containing suspected marijuana on the console. Officer Davis also found illegal mushrooms, a small amount of pills, a digital scale and packaging material commonly used for illegal drug sales. The driver, Robert Abell, 20, of La Plata was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs.

THEFT OF ATV: On Aug. 30 at 10:30 a.m., a child sized ATV was stolen from Scooter Express in the 11800 block of Park Road in Waldorf. An employee stated two males entered the store and one began talking with him and the other walked outside. A short time later, the man inside the store left without making a purchase. It was at that point the employee noticed the small ATV, which had been parked outside in front of the store, had been stolen. Cpl. R. Heishman is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Aug. 29 at 11:48 a.m., officers responded to the 10800 block of Parchment Court in Waldorf for the report of a burglary that just occurred. Investigation showed the homeowner was at his residence when he heard a knock at the door. He looked outside and saw a man he did not recognize at the door. He did not answer and the man walked away. Moments later, the man pulled up in a silver, four door passenger car and he and another man got out and knocked on the door. The homeowner still didn’t answer. The men walked to the rear of the house, kicked in the basement door and made entry. They quickly fled, possibly when they heard the homeowner inside. One suspect was a black male, 20’s, and wore his hair in a pony tail. He had tattoos on his right hand and was wearing a black shirt and jeans. The other suspect was a black male, possibly in his 30’s, balding, and was wearing black dress pants and a red or pink-striped long-sleeved shirt. The CCSO is reminding residents to look before you answer your door and call police immediately if you believe something is suspicious. Officer M. Tuner is investigating.

OFFICER ARRESTS ROBBERY SUSPECTS: On Aug. 29 at 12:38 a.m., Cpl. R. Gotshall was in the 2300 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf when he heard a robbery call dispatched at a nearby Burger King. Two armed subjects entered the business through a back door, pulled guns, demanded money and fled in a silver Chevrolet. Cpl. Gotshall spotted the suspects’ car and initiated a traffic stop. Four men were inside the vehicle. Evidence was observed linking the occupants to the robbery and the suspects were arrested. Wayne Darnell Hamilton, 22, of Clinton; Brian James Crayton, Jr., 20, of Waldorf; Demarcus Kavon McGhee, 23, of Washington, DC; and Gregory Robinson, 21, of Clinton, were arrested and charged with robbery and assault. All four suspects posted bond and are awaiting trial. Detective Hemsley of the Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.

RECKELSS ENDANGERMENT: On Aug, 28 at 8:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of Oakside Lane in Indian Head for the sound of gunshots. Investigation showed the shots were fired from occupants of a white vehicle which was speeding on Oakside Lane. No one was injured and the shots may have been fired into the air. PFC. D. Raby is investigating.
