THREAT OF ARSON: On July 12 at 11 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers were notified of a threat to “blow up” the Department of Social Services building in La Plata. Officers notified the Department of Social Services, at which time the building was evacuated as a precaution. The building was searched, and no explosives were found. A suspect has been identified, and charges are pending. PFC A. Fenlon is investigating.
